Sonder Series
Creating a series of books for middle school students that are age-appropriate, standards-based, and intentionally leveled according to WIDA language proficiency levels. The purpose of these books is to support multilingual learners in developing academic language while engaging with content that is relevant, respectful, and appropriate for their grade level.

Key Features:

Books designed specifically for middle school learners (not elementary-style texts).

     Alignment to academic standards and content areas (ELA, science, social studies, etc.).

Texts differentiated by WIDA proficiency levels to support language development from entering to bridging levels.

Focus on accessible vocabulary, structured language supports, and culturally responsive topics.

Teacher-friendly resources included (discussion questions, vocabulary supports, comprehension checks, and scaffolds).

Goal:
To provide educators with high-quality, leveled reading materials that help multilingual students build language skills while still engaging with rigorous, grade-level-appropriate themes and knowledge.
